Hi ,I am looking for any info on these names.These are from my mothers family.

There are many Weirs, Wares listed in the various Vital Statistics records (Volumes) for Twillingate, N.D.B. area of Nfld., and in particular Little Bay Islands. I have recorded many of them as Mary Ware was the wife of Charles Hustings (married Twillingate, 1 Nov 1849).

Donna, I am away from my residence for 3 - 4 months so I do not have ready access to some of my genealogy files.

But I can offer you the following information from memory at this time.....

Weir - Refer to the early Weir families at Tizzards Harbour. Isaac Weir may have been the first Weir settler at Little Bay Islands.

Grimes - Refer to the early Grimes Families at Herring Neck. George Grimes was the first Grimes settler at Little Bay Islands.

James - James James from England may have been the first James settler at Little Bay Islands.

Roberts - Refer to the Roberts families of Twillingate (and there were plenty of them). Jeremiah Roberts may have been the first Roberts settler at Little Bay Islands. Robert Roberts Jr. was also an early Roberts settler there.

I have reams of information on the early settlers at Little Bay Islands,and their descendants, but I cannot access all of it at this time.

Do your own due diligence, of course.

Donna, do you know any of the names of the Roberts from little Bay Islands you are looking for? I have many in my tree from both my side and my husbands side. But the majority of them are from Twillingate. I do have a Harriett Emma Roberts who married Lionel Locke of Little Bay Islands, but she is from Bluff Head Cove.
