Good morning Everyone!
I have been trying to find out for the past several years when a John Brownrigg arrived in St. John's. From some church records (2 different denominations) it appears to have been in the 1820s. It stated in one christeing that he was a native of Kilkenny, Ireland. I found an old note saying that he was 77 in 1900 which means there was another John after the one I had found the info on.
The first John was married in Dec 1829 and again in 1837. There was a George born in 1830 but I have no idea what happened to him.
There only appears to info available on the children from the 2nd marriage to a Mary Haw (e).
There also appears to be some very creative spelling in terms of the last name in some of the records.
Any suggestions or help would be very much appreciated.
Sheila Brownrigg
