I am searching my great grandmother's family history. I have found that she was born in Harbour Breton in about 1865, any more than that I do not know about her birth. I do know that she married an English man called Charles Hayward on 9th May 1886 also in Harbour Breton and then she emigrated to England with him. She had 11 children and died during her 12 pregnancy aged 43 in Wales, UK. If there is anyone with any information about her or her family I would be very grateful to hear from you.

I presume it is her death that was registered in the Pontypridd area in Dec Q 1908. Do you have a copy of the death certificate?

Have you traced the family on the 1891 and 1901 UK census?

I don't know where you live but in UK and some other countries free access to Ancestry is available at local public libraries. Might be worth checking out if you do not already subscribe yourself. Not sure if they also have UK in-coming passenger lists as well.

Good luck!

I have just seen your message, thanks. Sarah's death was registered in the Caerphilly district and I do have a copy of the certificate but there is no information on it that I didn't already have. I am trying to trace her family in Harbour Breton and also trying to find the marriage certificate for her and Charles. Thanks for your help. Karen

Just click on Fortune Bay, Then click on Harbour Breton Church of England, Then click on Marriages. When that opens up there is a block in the lower right of page click on the plus sign to enlarge and click on the top left of page to open fully.
