Newfoundland's Grand Banks Message Board

Does anyone have the aprox 1900 or the 1910 census for Belvedare Street in St Johns. My grandfather gave his address as 31 Belvedare Street in 1915 when he joined the 1st Nfld Regiment. My grandmother also gave that address when she traveled from NFLD to Boston with my mother in 1920. Thanks. I'm looking for a William J Hickey ( my gr grandfather and the name of his 2nd wife. I also know they had a son that was around my mothers age.

Unfortunately the nominal census records before 1921 didn't survive. There is only a tiny portion of the 1911 census and that little bit is transcibed on the Grand Banks web site. I don't think the area you are looking for exists.

I actually found them in the 1921 census at the top of the site. My grandparents, my mother and my gr grandfather are in the 1921 St John's East pages 330-350. My mother was a year old at the time. It's the right street but a different number for my gr grandfather. He at one time lived at 31 Belvedere Street.
