I think what you're looking for is Groais Island or Point Groais Island. It's to the east of Englee. The 1945 census for Point Groais Island indicates the area is from Fishot Island to Englee.

Hi Steve....checked out Groais island but I didn't find Fowler names there,I"ll look again later.My next places to investigate well be Brigus and Port de Grave ..

Hi, You might want to check out White Bay there is a place the or I should say was a place there called Point Gravis Island, White Bay, Newfoundland it was Originates from official Census Records I lived there (White Bay) back in '79 it is in the Tilt Cove Bonne Bay area cenus it is the only place that I know of with that name,It could be a start. Groais Island (the one I previously mentioned) was included in the White Bay District in 1935 and 1945. In 1921 it was included in the St. Barbe District. Some Newfoundlanders know it as the Grey Islands (There are actually 2 islands). The 1935 census for White Bay indicates the area covered as from Hilliers Harbour to Fishots Islands. It's spelled a number of ways in the records I've seen.

madmax and steve :thanks for your replies and interest in my topic ,but I have abandoned my search for info on the gravis islands and the fowlers who lived there.I guess it"s lost in time .
