My relative Miriam Wells married James Sidney Phinney Skiffington (1872-1898). They had two children, Albert 1895 and Margaret 1897. I am interested in any more information about them.

I Can offer an historical note on 'Skiffington'.
George Skeffington, as the name was spelled, was one of the first English salmon fishermen to extend salmon fishing at the mouths of rivers beyond Bonavista Bay and westerly into Trinity Bay, and beyond. First recorded in 1708.
Refer to "A History and Ethnography of the Beothuk",1996, Ingeborg Marshall, McGill-Queens University Press, pages 63 to 65, 106 and 251. Ingeborg lists the attendant citations for the original records which may interest you if you want to dig further. George Skeffington may be, in all likelihood, the progenator of the Musgravetown Skiffingtons.
Hope it helps.
Cheers
Greg Mitchell
