My great-grandfather was Isaac DAVIS of Bonavista. I have quite a bit of info on his ancestors, although more would be great.
I have gone back as far as John DAVIS (b. abt 1780 - bur. 27 Jan 1859) and Sarah UNKNOWN (no info). Any info on John and Sarah would be appreciated. According to Seary, the earliest instance of the name in Bonavista is a Benjamin DAVIS, 1792. I have no record of him.
Also, Seary's book says that the DAVIS name originated from England or Ireland. I have no idea where the Bonavista DAVIS's came from.
