Hello,
I am searching for information on the Leseman family in Saint John. My grandfather was Roy Bennett Leseman, who was the son of Henry George Leseman and Berthe Emmaline Bowden.
He was also in the Royal Newfoundland Regiment (found in the book The First Five Hundred) in WWI. I have his birth certificate, which states that he was born in Brooklyn, NY, and it lists is parents. I know that he also had a brother Walter, and a sister Flora.
I have found a little information about him, but I would like to know when he arrived in Newfoundland? were his brother and sister born there? When did his father arrive in Newfoundland, and from where (I suspect from Germany).
I have so many more questions, but I think this is a start. Any help is greatly appreciated.
