I'm looking for any information on a William Fahey from Western Bay who married a Bridget O'Rielly. They had several childen including James and Phillip. James was born in 1876 and immigrated to Cape Breton in 1899, died in 1942. I am James' grandson.

thanks in advance,
Jim Fahey

Hi Jim , Just roaming around on the net and I found this site.
It seems that we have the same Great Grandfather.
I have not done anything for a long time on the Tree.
But I do have a few bits of info that you may be interested in.
William Fahey married Bridget O'Reilly on Jan.8th, 1873

Bridget Fahey died Jan.10th, 1904 Age : 58
William Fahey died Nov.6th., 1917 Age : 75

They had 6 children.: Mary Joseph Fahey who married David Sullivan
Phillip Fahey who married Mary Ellen Rusk ( my Grand Parents )
James Fahey who married Sarah MacNeil ( your Grand Parents )
Catherine Fahey who married Gerald (Jerry) Snow
Dorothea ( Dora ) Fahey who married __?_ O'Leary : first husband
second husband was : William Kinsella
I believe the 6th child was Bridget who was baptized May 28th., 1885
and died March 25th., 1897 at the age of 12 years. ???
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mary Jo as she was called had 6 children
Phillip fathered 6 children
James as far as I know fathered 11 children
Catherine had 3 children
Dora had 4 from her 1st marriage . One was in the religious nuns.
and none from the second one .
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mary Jo died : Dec 7th., 1926 in Western Bay, NF
Phillip died : Nov. 12th., 1960 in Windsor , Ont.
James died in 1942
Dora died Oct. 1st., 1969 in St. John's,NF
Catherine ??????

Mary,

Its been a long long time!! Glad to hear from you again. I've actually added alot to our common tree. I've scoured from the NS geneaology index as well as the NFLD site. The NFLD site is really good, constantly updated. I've been using it for years. I've also managed to collect many old pictures (obviously on the James Fahey side). When you get grounded again, let me know so I can send some info on. I spoke with uncle Frank last week. He turned 88!!

Thanks so much for the additional info. I would love to be able to get info on William and Bridget Fahey. I think I will just have to go to NFLD to get their death certificates or obits. I think that might tell us their family. By the way, Catherine Fahey married Jerimiah Snow. We grew up knowing their sons John and Bill, good friends of Dads. I think I found Catherine's death certificate on the NS genealogy site.

take care,

Jim
