Looking for more information on John Sheppard born 27 August 1829 in Harbor Grace and married Catherine or Katherine Susanne Snow. Would appreciate information on Catherine Snow and her family. She was born 11 August 1830 in Harbor Grace. Have no date or place of their marriage. |

I believe the following information may be some of what you are looking for: Charles Snow (Bachelor) and Sarah Andrews (Spinster) were married 26 Dec. 1828 at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Harbour Grace, Newfoundland. Witnesses to the wedding were: William Andrews and Ann Walters. Charles and Sarah had the following children: Catherine Susanne b 11 Aug. 1830, bpt. 27 Dec. 1830 Elizabeth b 28 Feb. 1832, bpt. 17 Jan. 1833 Frederick b 15 July 1835, bpt. publicly 2 Jan. 1836* Stephen b 30 April 1837, bpt. 26 Dec. 1837 William b? bpt. 29 Aug. 1840 Horatio b 6 July 1841, bpt. 7 Nov. 1842 *There is some confusion regarding Frederick's birth date. There is a record showing Frederick baptized privately 18 July 1834. Private baptisms were performed quickly after the birth if the child was delicate and unlikely to survive. I suggest Frederick's birth year is 1834 not 1835. Based on genealogical data from John “Jack” Clark from Bay of Islands, NL, several years ago on the family of Blathwaite Snow (born 1760 -1836), Harbour Grace, apparently the first of that Snow family to migrate to Nfld. He showed that Blathwaite Snow’s son Charles had a daughter Catherine Snow (born 1830 at Harbour Grace) who married John Sheppard. I have more data on the Snow family which I would be pleased to share with you. According to my data Blathwaite Snow (1760-1836) was one of my my ggggrandfathers.
