Hello. My name is Janice, and I am researching my husband's family. The surname is Rumsey (was Romerill ?). His father was born in St. John's, but we now live in Ontario. Info comes from the Old Family Bible he owns, First entry 1796, then complete to present day. They came from the Channel Islands. Possibly owned land in Broad Cove. Third entry is Francis Rumsey (note name change), buried in Blackhead Old Methodist Cemetary, 1806-1896. Does anyone else have any connections to Rumsey, or Rumrill, Romeril or similar ? |
