William Brown born 1771 in Bonavista did not have the middle name of Gordon This William Brown was the son of William Brown Esq. and Mary ( Mary's maiden name is unknown ) there is no proof her name was Porter. The parents of William Brown Esq. are unknown William Brown Esq and his wife Mary had another son named Robert Brown. Robert Brown did not have the second name Porter. His death record stated that his name was Robert P Brown But his bap record, headstone, legal records and written correspondence make no mention of the P or of Porter.
