As part of my Family Tree, I am looking for information on John (Joseph??) McDonald born maybe around 1850, married to Ann House (aka Howse). Both born in Fortune Bay District of Newfoundland, maybe Gaultois. This is what I have as a possible link to McDonald. In the Nfld 1921 Census for Milltown there is a Mishal McDonald, born 1838 (83 y.o.) born Gaultois. (The household is my great Uncle Stephen McDonald, I knew him). In the Fortune District, Volume 85, Pages 1 - 31, HERMITAGE BAY, Baptisms 1875 - 1881 there is a Henry Frank McDonald baptism 1877 (Pg 14) whose father is listed as Meshach McDonald with a footnote in records stating Meshach should be Valentine. I am wondering if Valentine, Mishal and Meshach are all the same person. Anyone have any information on this McDonald and his relationship to John Joseph McDonald? Thank you |
