Hi There. Donna from Edmonton AB.

These are the family surnames of NL that I am researching:
-King of Brigus
-Bussey of Cupids/Brigus
-Page of Cupids/Brigus
-Spracklin of Brigus
-Bowers of Brigus/St. John's
-Gatheral/Getheral/Gatherall of St. John's/Bauline area

Especially looking for John King b. ca 1833, died 03 June, 1894, Brigus. 61 yrs old.
He is my brickwall. Trying to find where he was born and who his parents and wife were.

Ancestry DNA and 23andme DNA have matched me with other family members that descend from the 4 King brothers of Broad Cove. I'm trying to follow the line down to see where these King's of Brigus fit in with them. Not an easy task.
Anyone who follows these lines or has information on them and wants to share would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Donna

Hi,
I am related to some of the Spracklin's in Brigus, notably the descendants of Edward Spracklin & Phyllis Dawe. Are these any connection to your Spracklin's?

Hi Hdelaney,
I don't recall those Spracklin names, but my guess would be that you are related to the Spracklin's that I am researching, seems that they are all related in one way or another. My Great Grandparents are Archibald Spracklin b.1880, Brigus, married to Emily Maude Bowers. I do have their lines going quite aways back, so very possible that you come in thru one of Archibald's siblings perhaps? I will have to research that.
I'll let you know what I come up with

Sincerely,
Donna

Edward & Phyllis were married April 11, 1933 and I'm related to Phyllis. If their is a relation then it would be after 1880

I will check that out. My Grandfather Archibald Spracklin was born in 1880 in Brigus, he married Emily Maude Bowers in Brigus. The family stayed in Brigus with the exception of a few, ie: My Grandmother Mildred Spracklin, she moved to Montreal in 1926 and married my Grandfather George King who was also born in Brigus NL.
There are still many of the cousins still residing in Brigus today.
I'll let you know if I find out

Donna
