I am seeking any information available about Isaac Ainsworth, master mariner, husband of Eliza Rogers (died 1863) and Sarah Targett, marriage 1865. I believe that he was associated with 8 Victoria Street. His son, Henry Thomas Ainsworth travelled to New Zealand. He was born 1858 and died 1919. His daughter Selina was my maternal grandmother. I understand that Isaac's father was William from Dorset, England and his mother was Mary Frances Russell. |

Hi again, Heres the info I have..even if you get one thing from it every little bit helps Isaac Ainsworth married Eliza Rogers at St.John's on Nov.7th,1854-witts.Thomas Ainsworth and John Rogers Children:Mary Eliza d/o/b Aug.10th,1856 baptized Sept.14th,1856-father was a seaman Henry Thomas d/o/b July 12th,1858 baptized Aug.1st,1858-father master mariner Isabella Ann d/o/b Oct.6th,1861 baptized Oct.27th,1861-father master mariner John d/o/b June 17th,1860 baptized June 17th,1860-father master mariner Elizabeth d/o/b June 17th,1860 baptized June 17th,1860 (I found a death for Elizabeth)June 24th,1860...mother's name for these children was given as Elizabeth not Eliza as in previous records. Isaac Ainsworth(widower) married Sarah Jane Targett (spinster) on Aug.22nd,1865 ..residence at time of marriage St.John's for Isaac and Hr.Grace for Sarah..witts.Frederick Lang and Thomas Westcott Found only one child of Isaac and Sarah..Frances Elizabeth d/o/b Feb.3rd,1869 baptized Apr.11th,1869.
