I am searching for anyone acquainted with the Pye family who might have an old Bible or records in their possession. My grandfather was Jesse Lacy Pye born in 1865 who immigrated to Boston with a young family around 1900. He owned a Bible that had every birth, marriage and death listed in it. However, the family was living in Chelsea, MA at the time of the Chelsea fire in 1908 and they lost everything including the Bible. I am trying to determine the parentage of Blanche Pye who was in Carbonear by 1780 (possibly earlier)
and the man she married, William Pye who was born in either Maryland or Barbados. I can find no definite answers but have lots of opinions from others.

If you can lead me to any records of the late 1700's I would be ever grateful.
