My wife's people (parents) originally came from Newfoundland …the Twillingate area, where they had their first 3 children. They went to Boston area around 1930, later returning to reside in Sydney, N.S. where they had 5 more children. The Newfoundland family names associated with them are Compton, Bath, Oxford, Loveridge, Young, Vineham. Places associated with their Newfoundland days: Twillingate, Herring Neck, Durrell. My parents-in-law were born in the Twillingate area in the mid to late 1890s. We are interested in finding more about the families associated with wife's ancestry.

The BATH families currently living in Twillingate believe there are two distinct lines of BATH's. I am also researching this family.

I'm not familiar with two distinct lines of the Bath/Batt family from Twillingate. I understand that the Bath/Batt family may be one of the oldest from Twillingate. My particular branch is Thomas (bc 1851, s/o Thomas) who married Mary Cooper (bc 1861, d/o Thomas Cooper). They moved to the Horses Island, located off LaScie, White Bay.
