My grandmother's name was Mabel Regina Forsey. She was born 14 Oct 1897 in Fortune, Newfoundland and died 15 July 1980 in Windsor, Ontario. She married William George Chaulk (1903 - 1968) 23 Aug 1923 in Flint, Michigan, USA. They had two sons, George Cleuett (1924 - 1999) and John Forsey (1927 - 2002). I have very little information on my grandmother. Her father may have been John Forsey and her mother Martha Skinner but I am not sure. Hoping someone can help me find my ancestors on this side of my family.

John Forsey and Martha Skinner was married on September 29, 1892 at Fortune, by Reverend John Newman.
Mabel Regina Forsey was born on October 14, 1897, daughter of John and Martha Forsey of Fortune, and was baptised on October 17, 1897, by Reverend John Pratt.
William George Chaulk was the son of Alfred Chaulk and Adelaide Tucker of Elliston, but you probably know that already.

Thanks so much for the information. Do you have any information about Mabel's siblings? I found that she had 4 siblings Alice Mary 1905, George 1905 - 1926, Cluett 1908 and James 1910. I also found her grandfather was George Forsey 1835 and her grandmother was Sarah Ann Spencer 1839. Do you have any information on her grandparents and their families. thank you

Thank you so much. For a while it was like my grandmother's family was non existent. How do you find this information? I have spent many hours searching on the internet, obviously I am not using the proper web sites. Could you please let me know how I can find this information. I have found information that shows George Forsey died in Fortune, Newfoundland was buried in United Church (Methodist) Cemetery, Burin District, Newfoundland, Canada Thanks, Becki

Becki, I read this in one of your earlier emails. I also found her grandfather was George Forsey 1835 and her grandmother was Sarah Ann Spencer 1839. Do you have any information on her grandparents and their families I did not have parents for John Aaron Forsey. If the above is true, then we are sixth cousins. Welcome aboard the family!

I am a newbie and many of my findings have not been proven yet. I am using Ancestry.com and other sources for my information. George Forsey (1835) had 9 siblings, John Aaron Forsey was one of them. Their parents were John Forsey (1810 - 1882) and Dinah Major (1810 - 1858) married Oct. 8, 1828 in Fortune, Newfoundland. They had 10 children. John Forsey had three siblings (Esther Forsey 1812, Elizabeth Forsey 1814 and Aaron M Forsey 1815-1899). His father was Samuel Forsey (1776-1863) and his mother was Jane Lake (1780-1870). Samuel Forsey (1776-1863) married Jane Lake 1800 in Fortune, Newfoundland. Samuel Forsey's father was George Forsey (1748-1803). His mother was Esther Petit (1750-1827). Jane Lake's parents were John Lake and Sarah Priscella. I also found George Forsey (1835) had two wives Susanna Lake (1862-1944) as well as Sarah Ann Spencer. I am hoping that this helps you. If you find any errors or additions, please let me know. Nice to meet a cousin from my paternal Grandmother's side.

Becki, I had John Forsey dying in 1858, but seeing that you had his wife's date of death as 1858, my date for John, which is just third party information, could be wrong. Also I have only nine children for John and Dinah. Thanks for information on Aaron M Forsey. I did not have him. Also did not have the second wife for George Forsey (1835)
