Hi, I am C.Jones and my Great Grandfather was Mark Dean, probably born apx. 1845 to 1855? not sure. Can not find his death certificate because he died when out west during the goldrush. He was married to Margaret Ann Butt, born apx.1848, who had a brother William for sure, but don't know of any siblings. I would like to go back farther, I have the Jones' back to 1818. The Deans lived in Swansea, close to Victoria. The religion was either Anglican or Church of England and the Jones were Roman Catholic. A big deal back then I guess. The Jones' lived in Carbonear. Would like any info. CJ

Hi, My name is Anne C. I am doing research on my family history. My great grandmother was a Maggie Jones from Carbonear. She married a William Sharpe and moved to Harbour Grace. Her father was a Edward Jones form Carbonear. I have no information on the Jones family at all. I believe they were Catholic as he married Mary Mackey daughter of John Mackey Clerk of the Peace in Carbonear on Jan 6,1856 in the Catholic Church. Any information on the Jones family and where they were from and any family members would be greatly appreciated.
