Hi:
My grandfather's name is Manuel Hillier (1874) from Lamaline & his wife's (2nd wife) name was Jane Buffett (1883).
She is my grandmother.
I suspect they were married around 1912.
I can't find any history on Jane Buffett except for the census .
Who were her parents and siblings ?
Any ideas ?

I am not related but I came across some info for you.
Emmanuel Hillier b. abt 1875 Lamaline married Jane Buffett born May 22, 1883 in Fortune, NL. married on August 31, 1906 in Lamaline.
Witness to Marriage: Edgar Hillier, Alice Hillier
Marriage performed by: Adjt. Sparks
Groom's religion: SA
Bride's religion: SA

Jane Buffett's parents are Aaron Buffett and Jane Maria Thornhill.
You will find Jane's parents and brothers Ezra and John on the 1921 census of Fortune, Burin, NL.
Some of Jane's siblings were...
Ezra Buffett
William Bennett Buffett
John Wilson Buffett

Hey there, I think we may be related. My Grandmother was a Grand Bank Hillier who moved there from Brunette Island in 1951. If your family did this as well, let me know, I've been trying to find information on that side of the family.

Hi There
My grandfather Hillier moved to Fortune around 1914 and then previous to that they came from Lamaline/Point Aux Gaul.
I am sure we are distant relatives.
