I know of 4 Atkins siblings born on Salt Harbour Island - Sara Anna b. 1846, Clare, John and Peter. Their mother may have been Eliza Clemins. Lovell’s 1871 Directory for Newfoundland includes no entry for Salt Harbour Island or Salt Harbour. There is an entry for Salt Island, a small fishing settlement in the district of Twillingate and Fogo. If you know more about this family or this community, please contact me. |
