I have traced my Ancestry back to Robert Skinner who was born in Newfoundland in 1824 to Thomas Skinner and Anne Williams according to baptism records. The records show that he had a brother William Skinner and a sister Mary Jane Skinner. Robert emigrated to England and married Sarah Palmer in 1846. Don't know if his parents emigrated to England as well. Is any one related to these Skinners?

Or does anyone have further information in Thomas Skinner and Anne Williams? This Thomas Skinner is not the Skinner who became the governor of Ceylon.

Col. Thomas Skinner married Anne Williams, the daughter of George
Williams (1728-1803) and Mary Monier. George Williams is reputed
to have come to Newfoundland from Swansea, Wales. George had
a brother, Griffith Williams, who lived at Woolwich, England. There
is quite a bit of information on this family as they were prominent.
