Hi,

I’m researching my Trenchard family line. My mother and I have been researching this side of the family for awhile now and have found way too many walls. We were always told to “not dig up dirt on dead people.”

I have a little information:

Benjamin Trenchard married Mary and they had:

Rebecca; John Charles; Thomas Kenneth (my gggrandfather); Edward Chester; William; Eliza; Sara Jane and Julia. There could have been more children, but I’m not sure. There are some big date gaps between some of the children.

I know the family started out in Lower Island Cove and then moved to St. John’s. Some family members moved to Cape Breton in the early 1900’s.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Tina

Hi Tina
My name is Wayne Rodgers. I too have family from Lower Island Cove. I have been doing a tree on the Rogers family from LIC for the past 2 years. In my files I have the births, deaths and marrages of most of the familys of LIC. I saw your post and reviewed the files and found most of the names you mentioned in your post. If you like I could e-mail these files to you for your viewing.

Happy Searching
Wayne
PS BenJamim Trenchard (also spelled Trencher in the records) was a Blacksmith in LIC and was married to Mary Ann from the UK

Hi Wayne,

That would be great if you could forward me those files.

Yes the original spelling was Trencher then changed to Trenchard. You'd laugh at the spellings I've seen in transcribed records.

Thank you,
Tina
