seeing if anyone can draw a line to Ambrose Hickey and Sara Dolimont. Had a Daughter Sarah born 1869 married Ambrose Penny of English Harbour West. Went to North Sydney in 1906 |

Hi!I was interested in Ambrose Hickey.I am doing some genealogy on the Hickey's!my great-grand parents were from Harbour Main.They were John Hickey born1856 married to Elizabeth Gorman 1857.they had a son Ambrose born July.30,1897.oddly enough I can't seem to trace him.I was wondering if there was any connection.As well my pop was John Hickey1856,my Dad Ronald 1942.My Dad had a brother Ambrose as well!!Karen(Hickey)Coates. |

Hi There. I haven't been able to connect the Hickey's I am researching to other families in Newfoundland. They lived at a place called Barrow on Fortune Bay. The information of Ambrose I was given in this post was an error on the death certificate. Sarah's parents were John Hickey and Jane Poole. |

This family lived around Corbin and Barrow In Fortune Bay. The earliest confirmed ancestor from this family would be a William Hickey married to Sarah Evans in 1844. This was a catholic ceremony but there are indications that they would have married as early as 1840 in another church. |
