My great-grandparents, Martin Carew and Amelia Mullowney Carew, emigrated from Newfoundland to Massachusetts in 1890. I have patrilineal descent from John Carew, born in Devon in late 1600's or early 1700's. Earliest Newfoundland descendent was Jack Carew, who settled in Witless Bay. I notice many Carews remain in Witless Bay and St. John's. I am interested in expanding the Carew family history in Newfoundland.

Hi, A very good friend of mine is a Carew from Middle Pond, which is in the WItless Bay Area. Her father's name is Jack Carew who is in his early 50's and her grandfather who is deceased was also names Jack Carew. She is in the process of trying to start her family tree and I am sure would be willing to give you any information that she may have. If you want to talk to her just send me a message and let me know and I will forward it to her.
Carolyn
