Hi there:

I am not descended from the Skeard name and only recently heard of the name for the first time. All of my ancestors were on the east coast of NL and I think the Skeards were on the west coast?

I have an article from a 1923 edition of The Telegrapher, which was a monthly newsletter for the Telegraphers Asscoation of NL. This is how I heard of the Skeard name. I thought the article was interesting and should be shared with any descendants. It describes a Mr.Skeard who lost his house to a fire in 1923; he was 75 years old and they established a relief fund to help him.

I tried to attache the article to this post but could not do that. If you send me your e -mail I will send it to you.

Maybe this is not your Mr. Skeard but I thought the article was worth saving.
