Hello, looking for records for William and Ann Summers Collins originally from the Blow me down area until about 1879. Ancestry trees shows William's father James, buried in Carbonear in 1823 but cannot verify parentage. We are direct decendents of one of William's children, Samuel who immigrated down to Key West Florida in the mid 1800's. We believe Samuel's brother Francis remained in Newfoundland and there are ancestors around.
That is another topic would love to have information. Does any one have stories about mariners who left Newfoundland to settle in Key West?
Thank you - Casey Virok and Vicki Collins

I believe that I may be a distant relative on the Summers ( Somers) side. My grandfather x 3 was Joseph Somers who was the father of your Ann. She would have been the sister of my grandfather x 2 , Peter Somers. Baptism, birth, and marriage information can be found on this site in the Carbonear district, Methodist baptism and marriage. There is also information under Flat Rock and Blow Me Down.
