I'm not sure if this topic has been covered before but I'd love some advice.
Currently my family tree is on ancestry's Family Tree Maker. They have stated that they will no longer be supporting FTM so I was wondering what everyone else uses? Pros/cons to other programs and pros/cons to having the information available online.

Thank you

Ancestry has sold the company so Family Tree maker will continue.
the site is Ancestry told me if you have FTM 2014 they are planning to provide a free upgrade 14.1

Of course if you are unhappy with them then I am sure others could tell you what they use.

added: The site says if you have an older version then you can up grade now for $29.95 and if you do not have FTM I think they said you could buy it for 49 instead of 69. Not sure how long that lasts.

I have used Ancestral Quest for many years. I have had no problems with it. They do upgrade every several years, which you can purchase if you chose. If you chose not to purchase an upgrade, the older versions continue to work just fine. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a software platform for genealogy documentation.
good luck,

I use free sogtware out of the UK called Geneanet. Seems to work great for me but then I haven't used anything else so take that with a grain . . . . :)
