Many of our Newfoundland ancestors came from Dorset, and in case you haven't come across it earlier, there is an excellent resource for Dorset parish records.

It is called Dorset On-Line Parish Clerk (or OPC), and you can find it here:

http://www.opcdorset.org/

It is similar to what the volunteers at NGB have done, but there is a "parish clerk" for each parish, and you look up the records that way.

Many of these parishes have not been transcribed on the Latter Day Saints' site, so this is a great place to look in you have Dorset ancestors.

There are other OPC's connected for other counties which you can reach from the Dorset site, but I find that Dorset's is the best. They have > 1 million records, and it's FREE!
