Hi,

Trying to find information about my great-grandfather George Bonnell. Our family knows very little and would love to help my mom trace her roots. We know he had two children for sure: Albert George Bonnell (1931-2002) and Mary Bonnell. They were probably born in the St. Joh's area but not certain. We believe his wife (whose name we do not know) died young and their children were placed in a children's home or something similar. It is likely he remarried and had children. Just looking for any information, names, etc if anyone may be able to help fill in the blanks.

Thank you so much.

Hi. I know what a task it could be to search without a starting point! Maybe this could help?
There's an Albert Bonnell in the 1945 Nfld. Census who was in the care of welfare on Thorburn Road.
Is it possible George died early too? There's a 44 year old George Bonnell who passed away in the early 1940's. I could email the downloaded records or you could search for yourself on
FamilySearch.org
