Just looking for any advice on YDNA testing. I am aware that there are 3 different levels of testing that can be done and that getting the Y111 test would be best (if you can afford it). I'm just wondering what different kinds of information can be obtained from the different level of testing? Essentially I have 2 lines of the tree that I would like to further research. Both originated from England/Ireland (we are assuming) but will the tests narrow down an area to hone in on? If so would the results be that the ancestor likely came from say southern England as opposed to Northern Ireland? And if so, could this be accomplished with say the Y67 or Y111 the way to go?

Thank you in advance for any advice.

Hi RD,
I'm sure Pikeman will reply sooner or later. He could tell you better than I.
