I've come to a stall on one of my lines and was wondering if someone else might have any experience with Guernsey records/families.
The information that I have is for a George Fleming who was baptised/converted in 1851 in St. Mary's (NL) at the age of 20. He is listed as originally being of Guernsey. I finally found a George Fleming in the 1841 Channel Island census but it doesn't seem to fit. The family in that record is headed by George (50), wife Jemima (35), Augusta (8), George (6) and Jemima (5). Aside from George these names do not appear anywhere in my tree. And, I discovered a link for an individual in AUS who is in fact a descendant of George (6) so that family moved to AUS not NL. As Fleming doesn't seem to be a typical Channel Islands family names I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions?
