Post subject:  Locating a piece of property

Well, my Uncle has put a quest before to attempt to locate a piece of property once owned by our family.

Without the Deed and random names given to me, it's one heck of a quest.

So I ask if you may have any suggestions to aid in this.

Community is Blackhead.
The story goes that Uncle John (John Kenneth Mulley(1890–1983)) owned a piece of land that he past to his brother Uncle Jake (Jacob King Mulley(1907–1982)) which in turn past to his son Allen (no information).

So I head to here to check any references and find none.. Over to Registry of Deeds, and find nothing.
Did wide open searches on area, wild card names, and dates... Nothing.

Next stop was to look into tax records. So far I'm not able to go back very far.. Then, reading an article, it talked about 'tax exempt' properties.
Oh, now that wouldn't make things easy..

Any sites or people I should contact as a possible way to find out who was paying land/property tax in Blackhead back in the 1900- 1960??
If I could match a name to the land tax, then it should state the property, right?

All suggestions welcomed.
