Pikeman, I have a collection of material on John August, Tom June, Oubee, Demasduit, Shanawdithit, and other Beothuk captives of the 1700s and early 1800s. I support the idea of erecting a memorial or commemorative plaque, naming John August, in St. Paul's Anglican churchyard cemetery, or inside the historic church, at Trinity. I scoured that old cemetery last summer and there is an abundance of history attached to it. |
