I wonder if someone from Newfoundland can tell me how they pronounce the name, "Youden," there. Does the "ou" have a long "u" sound as in the pronoun, "you?" Or does it have the "ow" sound such as you might exclaim if you cut yourself?
Then, one could get really specific and ask, "Would that be "ow" as a Canadian might say it or "ow" as an American might say it?" 'Could use an audio file on this one. heh, heh. Just an answer to the first set of questions would be helpful enough, thank-you.

Hi there! The correct pronunciation is YOO-den (not YOW-den). I have friends with this last name here in Newfoundland.
