Try familysearch.org a free search site and they have
Newfoundland vital records 1840 to 1949 and vital statistics 1753 to 1893. Good luck with your search.

Information is difficult prior to the early 1890's as Vital records only started at that time. During the early 1940's, all of the Churches were asked to send in their Register information so the information could be used to create earlier Vital reords. Some did and most did not do so. The information was tanscribed on forms by members of each church, so these records will contain transcription errors. Many of the pre-1891 Registration records are being added to the site as time permits and can be found as part of the Vital Records sections of the site.
