My great, great ,great Grandfather was Thomas Mouland from Bonavista(abt 1791) married to Sarah Olford maybe from Greenspond. His son Andrew came to Musgrave or Doting Cove in the 1830's or 40's. Anyone with info on Thomas please let me know.
My great, great Grandfather on the Pardy's side was William Pardy(1817 to1875) married to Elenor Carpenter (18.. to 1879) not sure if they came to Doting Cove. If anyone has any more info on this part of my family tree you can leave message here.

My great, great grandfather was Elias Mouland (born Nov 1853, died after 1935) of Doting Cove. He was married to Hannah Cuff (born Sept 1862, died after 1945) also of Doting Cove. I do not have any information on either of their parents, nor have I been able to find the connection to Bonavista. Any information you may have on Elias would be much appreciated.

I am most certain that they came from Bonavista or their parents. Abbotts,Cuffs , Mouland's Hick's that settled here in Doting Cove came from Bonavista. My Mom who is 90 yrs old remember them but her memory is not that good. Elias Mouland was the Father of Herbert Mouland and mom is confused about Stan Mouland seems him and Herb were not real brothers.
My sister will be visiting the senior's home this comming week and will ask Roland Abbott if he knows who Elias Mouland Father was and where he Came from. Did Elias have a daughter who's name was Eva and is this your part of the family? Mr. Abbott is around 100 yrs. old and ws the town Historian.

A.1: parents of Thomas Mouland – Devon England. No information on these people at this time. B.1 : Thomas Mouland, born (circa: 1790?) in Bonavista, NF, married Sarah Oldford in Bonavista, NF. It is very possible that Sarah came from Greenspond, as “Oldford” is a very common name there. They had 9 children – Joseph – 1816 (C.1.2); Andrew 1 – 1819 (C.1.1); George 1 – 1822 (C.1.3); John – 1824 (C.1.4); Susan – 1827 (c.1.5); Jane – 1832 (C.1.6); James Oldford – 1835 (C.1.7); James B. – 1838 (C.1.8); and Theresa – 1844 (C.1.9): ------------- C.1.1 : Andrew Mouland 1, baptized 11 July, 1819; married Palma Ford, the 12 December 1844 in Bonavista (born in 1820 and died the 17 June 1881). Recorded in the 1871 census. Palma Ford was born 1820. (Andrew and Palma were married by Rev. Tom Angrew and witnessed by William Cuff and William Miles). He had 8 children : Andrew II (D.1.1.3); Mary (D.1.1.4); Sarah (D.1.1.5); Honor (D.1.1.1); George II (D.1.1.2); Susan (D.1.1.6); Andrew III (D.1.1.8); James Ford (D.1.1.9):

Naomi Mouland is my great-grandmother. She was married to Isaac Davis.
I have already spoken to Roland Abbott via telephone, and at the time he was unsure who the father of Elias was.
I have no record of an Eva.

Just wondering if you would have any info on the CUFF family from Doting Cove since Hannah CUFF was the wife of Elias MOULAND. Both the CUFF and MOULAND names have origins in Bonavista, but I don't have any info on Hannah's ancestors, nor the connection to Bonavista.

In the 1871 census, the surname Monland was recorded. There were 5 families, Andrew Monland - fisherman, George Monland - fisherman, James Monland - fisherman, John Monland - fisherman, and Mrs. Hannah Monland (wife to Joseph Mouland ) - widow. From the 1898 communities notes: MUSGRAVE HARBOUR, a post, money order, fishing, farming and shipbuilding _________________________________________________________________________ _____ 16
