Hi, thank you for accepting me to your forum. I am currently trying to find one of my ancestors who left England. I discovered one, Nichodemus Crocker who was my 4x GGrandfathers brother from Hazelbury Bryan, Dorset. The other is really hiding, I’m 75% from the South Coast of England, so there are so many common names. I do know that my DNA link is from Sops Island. Hoping to find some clues. Thanks. Jan Cowan

Hi Jan: There are several families spread out through nl. Your Nico Married Tamsey Soper 1835.If you look in the Burin district you will find his children from 1837 to about 1856. What was the name of the other brother you are looking for?

My other match is to do with the Pittmans of Sops Island. I think that it may go back to Mary Simms/Pope. There are 2 unrecorded marriages for William Pitman, first one was to Margaret, surname unknown. Then her son William also married with surname unknown. They both could be my DNA link as I link to several others from that area.
