Hi, I am researching my husband's Fitzpatrick ancestors from County Kilkenny, Ireland. My husband's DNA matches repeatedly lead back to Fitzpatrick ancestors from the Dunville/North East/Placentia area of Newfoundland. I'm interested in any information about the Fitzpatrick's in that area of Newfoundland. I wonder how many Fitzpatrick's migrated there from Ireland and when they migrated. I'd like to connect with anyone interested in the Fitzpatrick's and the Dunville/North East area. Thank you!
Mary Anne

Hi Mary Anne! We have a family connection to the Fitzpatricks of Rams Island/ Iona… We can trace back to our GGG GF Michael Fitzpatrick who married Lucy Griffin/Griffith in 1835. My notes say Michael had a brother named Patrick Fitzpatrick who married Elizabeth in 1837. Michael + Lucy had 9 children. We would love to be able to trace back farther, but haven’t found records, or other people related to the Fitzpatricks. Our GG GM was their daughter Bridget, who married Patrick Murphy. Patrick was last seen in Sydney with his youngest daughter Elizabeth & her husband, and we would love to know what happened to his wife Bridget Fitzpatrick Murphy and what happened to Patrick Murphy, as well as the rest of their children. Happy to compare notes! Sue & Judy
