Hello fellow genealogists My name is Wayne Robson I have married into a Dwyer family and since I am retired, I have started a family tree I am searching for any information on the following: Mary A Whalen 1850–1933 BIRTH 1850 • Chapels Cove, Harbour Main NFLD DEATH 16 JUN 1933 • Riverhead, Newfoundland, Canada I don't have an actual "birth" record for Mary. |

Hi Wayne, Sorry, I have no records for 1850…This is all for Chapel’s Cove Whelan’s: 1/Philip Whelan+Johanna Fitzgerald with children Mary Bridget 31 Jan,1878, Patrick 13 Jul 1879, David 3 Jan or Mar 1882….and 2/possibly the same Philip Whelan + Bridget Fewer with children John 24 July 1888, Walter Joseph 18+23 July 1890?, James 14+17 Sep 1892, Michael P. 24+25 Feb 1895, David 25+27 Feb 1897, Patrick M. 19+20 Mar 1899, Leo 17 Oct 1902 Almost all of the other Whelan families in Harbor Main seem to be in Colliers, with a couple in Harbor Grace Junctn, Cats Cove & Holyrood. I’m curious about the connection to Riverhead…there was a John Thomas Whelan b.Span Bay who married widow Agnes Byrne Ryan on May 29,1912 (1935 census Tilton),her sister Josephine married Wm Leary on Jun 22,1909 & Michael Whelan was a witness, Henry Byrne + Alice Whelan (1871-1953) stood for Alice Byrne+ George Gallagher Feb 4,1892 then married Nov 28,1893 with James Whelan & Alice Gallagher witnesses…Alice’s sister Bridget m. Michael Whelan Nov 22,1904..I don’t know if any of these people are related to your Mary. Good luck with your search! Sue & Judy |
