I am looking for information about my G/G/G Grandfather who apparently moved to St Johns from Ireland in 1789. He married a Mary Widdicombe and maintained a mercantile relationship with a James Cooke in Waterford, Ireland until one of their schooners (Enterprise) was lost at sea in 1803. John was reported lost at sea circa 1811 but we have no knowledge about why/where he was going.

hey. i tried to look up for you. but i couldn't get any information as to why he was gone to sea, Nor could i get a exact date of death .. i did find Mary had moved to PEI and they had 6 children. oldest was born in 1800 and youngest was 1820 in Nfld and PEI, they all have the last name Travers.

don't make sense if their youngest was born 1820. and he went missing around 1803? possibly. it just says he was lost at sea.
