Hi, I recently started searching for ancestors on my father's side.
My father was James Walter Healy of Halifax NS. His father was James Celestine Healy, and his father was John Healy born May 16, 1869 and was from Blackhead NFLD.
I am trying to find the parents of John Healy from Blackhead. Any help would be much appreciated, Thank you!

Hi Betty:

I'm not sure if the information below is who you are looking for but it does seem worthwhile looking into as the dates are inline with the information you gave.

The Evening Telegram and other local Newspapers
Weddings, Anniversary, Engagements, and Graduations
FURLONG - HEALY
Harbour Grace Standard November 23, 1864 (Wednesday)
Married. At St. John's, on the 12th inst., by the Right Rev. Dr. Mullock, assisted by the Rev. J. Vereker, P.P., Mr. James Healy, Chief Clerk, General Post Office, to Mary, third daughter of the late Hon. James Furlong.

HEALY, Mary
Royal Gazette April 16, 1889 (Tuesday)
Died. On the 11th inst., Mary, wife of James Healy, of Black Head, aged 44 years.
HEALY, Mary
The Times & General Commercial Gazette April 17, 1889 (Wednesday)
Died, on the 11th inst., Mary, wife of James Healy, of Black Head, aged 44 years.

If you find out it is a match, I'd appreciate knowing! Good luck!

Thank for the info, but these people were not a match for me. I do wonder if there is some sort of connection as I have traced my Healy relative to Black Head.

I'm looking at this again because I think I may have some errors in my tree...trying to confirm as much as I can with real evidence. The newspaper report of death of Mary Healy wife of James of Blackhead....I only have one James Healy of that era so this could be his wife Mary Ann (born Edstrom).
