Dear Irene,

I saw your note and decided to join Grand Banks to be able to reply to you. Oddly, I happen to have a print out of a Garland geneology website in which the family name, Forward, is listed. The website is http://www.nuceng.ca/bill/genealogy/genhome.htm

The paper print out is a couple of years old, but it shows Henry G. Forward (b 1856), which I see is a different year from what you have, married to Elizabeth Dean. Further, it shows his parents as Sarah F. Garland (1813-1890) and Henry F. Forward (1813-1898). Sarah had a brother named George and a mother named Georgina and the Garland family has many Georges in its history. So he may have been Henry George.

My other suggestion is that he may have been Henry Garland Forward. According to the print out, his sister Emma, was Emma Garland Forward (b 1850).

I hope this helps.

Dorothy
