Hi there, I am in the process of looking for family history and hopefully this site might help. My family lost touch with the Newfoundland side when my father moved to Montreal many years ago. His name was George and his parents were John Bennett and Veronica (Dawe) Bennett. My grandfather I believe was born in Harbour Grace and the Dawe family was from Kelligrews. My father was from a family of 7. The family lived on Hayward Ave. in St John's. If any of this information sounds somewhat familiar please let me know. Thanks...John |

Married at Manuels, NF Feb. 2, 1909 by Father W. O'Flaherty: John Bennett aged 23 yrs, St. John's, NF and Veronica Dawe aged 22 yrs, Kelligrews, NF. The 1921 Census records the family living at 37 Hayward Avenue, St. John's John Bennett, b August 1884, St. Kyran's, NF Veronica Bennett, b February 1888, Kelligrews, NF George Bennett, b March 1910, St. John's, NF Emma(?) Bennett, b November 1917, St. John's, NL John Bennett, b March 1920, St. John's, NF The 1935 Census records the family at the same address with 4 more children added to the family: Mary Bennett, 13 yrs Rita Bennett, 9 yrs Edward Bennett, 9 yrs Eileen Bennett, 7 yrs |
