Hello All
My family is from Red Island and I'm planning my first trip to NFLD this July. I looking into chartering a boat to Red Island from somewhere in Placentia Bay. Is this even possible? I'm a descendent of Maurice Barry who lived there from 1826-1922, My Grandfather Michael Barry was born there but left in 1910 to settle in Brooklyn NY. I would love to visit the family land and hopefully pay respects to my family if I can locate the cemetery.
While I'm in the area I'm interested in any sites to see and if there's a chance on meeting a long lost relation, well the drinks are on me as that would be a special added bonus.
