Good evening everyone. I am looking for information on Francis Sheppard of Harbour Grace. He was listed in 1775 as being in possession of land that has been in the Sheppard name for 90 years, so at least 1685. I am looking for his parents names and origin. One of my family members thinks possibly Dorchester,England. I have obtained the lineage from Francis to me, but am unable to find info any further. Here is some background: Francis was married to Sarah who beared 4 children:henry,jane,william and elizabeth. My lineage follows William. Sarah was listed as widowed in 1788 when Elizabeth arrived but not in 1784 when william was born. I speculate he died within those 4 years. Unfortunately, many of the parish records were destroyed in a fire from that time. PLEASE ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED!!!!! Cheers Perry |
