Newfoundland's Grand Banks Message Board

Hi everyone,
My father was born in Cooper's Cove, right over the hilll from Tack's Beach. I have been researching and trying to trace his family.
I know the spelling of last names was "variable" and i've seen it in the records as Manks and Monk.
My Grandmother was Janie (or Jane) Haines (or Hynes).

There are so many families with these last name. I'd be interested if anyone has information on Monks or Haines on Cooper's Cove.
