Hi
5 members of the Stott family moved to St John's from Fyvie in Aberdeenshire in the mid 19C.
Robert Stott (1843-1924) was the headmaster of St Andrews school from 1862 for some years and then left to live in Ireland.
James Stott (1845-1923) was a grocer, tea, wine and spirit merchant in Water St, St Johns. He married Agnes Douglas McMurdo and they had 6 daughters: Isabel, Mary Marion, Olive, Kathleen and Agnes.
Elizabeth Hay Stott 1847-1914 married a fellow Scot John F Chisholm who was a stationer and bookseller on Water St, St Johns. They had no children.
David Stott (1850-1929) was the first superintendent of Post and Telegraphs for the Anglo American Telephone Co. He married Bertha and they had 3 girls Agnes, Jean and Helen.
Isabella (1853-1927) married Daniel Munroe who was part of Munroe and Parker the shoe manufacturers. They had 3 children: Jean, Norman and John.
Has anyone got any further details on any of these people. Or about the Anglo American Tel Co, or Munroe and Parker or anything else!
Many thanks - Jenny Henderson UK
