Hi
I am researching
Miller & Churchill surnames from Portugal Cove, Newfoundland
Hennebury surname from Quidi Vidi, St. John's, Newfoundland
Dyke surname from Salvage, Newfoundland
Knight surname from St. John's, Newfoundland
Thorne surname I am unsure of where to locate any information. My husbands grandmother Florence Thorne married John "Jack" Hennebury, I have information on the Hennebury family but nothing on Thorne. Florence is buried at the Forest Road Anglican Cemetery, no stone but the cemetery records have her death recorded as Oct 28, 1963 at the age of 64, therefore born in 1899. Wedding date unknown as well.
My mother-in-law did have her mothers wake at her house in Portugal Cove but she only remembers her mothers maiden name was Thorne, she believes that she was born in Newfoundland. I have researched throughout Newfoundland have been unable to locate any further information.
I am hoping someone may have some information that will open a window.
Thank you in advance.
Tanya

Hi I have John Thorne born 1840 Melbourne, NL died 1923, married to Caroline Windsor.

My Miller family links to Best and Bishop.

My Churchhill family links to Tiller from Wesleyville.

Knight links to Tiller and Chiasson from Nova Scotia.

More than 2 dozen Dykes from Pouch Island, Greenspond, and Cape Island.

If you think any of this would be helpful please e-mail me at rhondashettell@yahoo.com
