Hello my name is John Harris I am from England North Devon but now live in Spain. My Fathers side of the family come from Appledore N Devon. His Great grandmother Iam lead to believe was. Rebecca Ann Lear from Conception Bay Born 1857 ish. She married John Bale Evely from APPLEDORE .. I am just starting the family tree. I have been told we have many links with Newfoundland as both my fathers, father and mother side where ship owners, traded between Newfoundland and Appledore. We also at one time owned a ship yard in Appledore the owner was PHILIP KELLY HARRIS. If i can help with anything with the little i know please contact me.

John, Hello from Newfoundland
Rebecca's father was Henry Lear and he was the brother of my Great Great grandfather John Lear. Which of Rebecca's children is your line. Rebecca was the only child of Henry and Elizabeth. Henry was accidently shot in 1862 and Elizabeth remarried a Porter and had six more children. Looking forward to hearing from you Best Regards John Lear
